PigPen Theatre Co.’s off-Broadway play The Old Man and The Old Moon has extended its run through January 6, 2013 at The Gym at Judson. The play had initially been scheduled to close on November 25.
The Old Man and The Old Moon is the tale of an old man who abandons his duties of filling up the moon every month to cross the seas in search of his missing wife. On his journey, the Old Man encounters titanic leviathans of the deep, apocalyptic storms, civil wars, cantankerous ghosts and other startling and fantastical creatures. The production features PigPen’s signature blend of original music, shadow puppetry, live action and clever lighting effects, and marks the company’s first large-scale Off-Broadway production.
The Old Man and the Old Moon is written, directed, produced and stars the seven members of the PigPen Theatre Co.: Alex Falberg, Ben Ferguson, Curtis Gillen, Ryan Melia, Matt Nuernberger, Arya Shahi and Dan Weschler. The production includes design and puppetry by Lydia Fine and Bart Cortright.
